六榕街道

六榕街总面积：0.87平方公里，户籍人口48690人，设社区居委会10个。分别是：将军东社区居委会、旧南海县社区居委会、文园巷社区居委会、稻谷仓社区居委会、兴隆东社区居委会、盘福社区居委会、清泉社区居委会、兰湖里社区居委会、双井社区居委会、象岗山社区居委会。
　　六榕街因六榕塔而得名。
　　六榕街历史悠久，自唐宋以来已经是广州城内的主要街区，明清时更有重要的官府设在街内，如明朝的提督府、南海县衙、永丰谷仓；清朝的平南王府、将军府等。街内文物古迹众多，有遐迩海内外距今1500多年历史的六榕寺；在西汉南越王墓；还有广州最古老的名井－战国时期的越王井和广州最大的宫观三元宫等。辖内主要机团单位有省科技厅、省科协、省计算机中心、南方影视传媒集团、广东迎宾馆及市财政局等。学校有知用中学、二十七中学、二中应元学校、东风西路小学、盘福路小学、双井街小学、将军东小学等。
